My Gyaru Home! (Part 1)

Hello gals! I still cannot believe this happened but... I'm a homeowner! ✨

I feel like won the lottery 😭 Around October 2024 my bank kept sending me emails about "pre-approved" mortgages, so I decided to look around... and was extremely lucky finding a solid flat for very very cheap (which is unheard of in my city). The flat being this little meant my application got approved for 100% the amount without the usual necessary savings... so yeah, after all the paperwork got approved, I'm suddenly having to organise a move, deciding on furniture, wall colours and everything!

The flat is a 3 bedroom facing south-west! Its a corner block so I have no neighbours around except downstairs, which makes it super quiet. It is an old building and the flat needs some love, but as soon as I walked in I thought the potential was massive.

My biggest problem is trying to decide what vibes I want... I love everything traditional from both of my family's culture's, I love gyaru, and I love nerdy stuff... and my partner is from a different part of Spain and his culture is very beautiful as well, so its going to be interesting to balance everything! I think right now the plan is:

1. Kitchen: traditional with nods to my partner's and my cultures.
2. Bathroom: Alba Rosa inspired!
3. Living Room: Cozy + Ghibli/Nature inspired 
4. Main Bedroom:  Simple + Modern
5. Guest Room: 2000s gyaru
6. Office: Nerdy stuffs

Kitchen

The kitchen is functional but very basic, its one of my top priorities to get it remodelled by a professional! I can't live without a dishwasher and I think if we move the fridge to the opposite side we'll gain a bit of counter space, and more cabinets are definitely needed to house all the different cuisines we like making.

Bathroom

A remodelling is not actually needed here but I think having new furniture and cute towels/accesories will make it feel fresh! I also hate Spanish bidets and can't wait to take it out and install an Asian bidet on the toilet instead.

Living Room

The living room is what sold me when I was first shown this place. Its a good size and it gets sunlight from mid-morning till sunset. I could just imagine myself reading in a cozy corner surrounded by my plants and books... 🌿📚

For this room I'm imagining dark oak colour furniture, lots of shelving for my books, plants and a gaming dining table to play with our friends!

Guest Room

The guest room will be "my room". I like having my own space to keep my clothes, vanity and I'm very excited to go super gyaru in this room. I'm currently in a big zebra mood, so the room is more or less built upon this beautiful zebra rug from Rugvista. I also found this modular open wardrobe from Sklum which I think is perfect in case I want to expand it in the future.

Main Bedroom

Technically what will be our office is the actual main bedroom, and this space is meant to be a second bedroom. People will probably think we are weird for this, but we decided to switch them around. Ever since we moved in together we realised we barely spend time in our bedroom and just use it for sleeping, so it makes sense for us to have a big sunny office instead of a small cramped one.

Office

This is the "main" room that will be our office. We had our desks in an L layout in our rented home, so we want to do the same here and have a dedicated space to work and for our hobbies. The room also has a big balcony where I'm excited to have more plants and flowers!
