Surviving the Summer: Skin Tints

Hallo gals! I'm spending summer in New Delhi and Japan, so I've been wondering how to adapt my makeup to the high temperatures and insane humidity levels of the rainy season! ☔

Everyone and their mother has been talking about skin tints on Tiktok, so I decided to jump on the trend and try out some for myself. As you know already, I am trying to avoid brands that are not cruelty free as much as possible.

⭐️ Skin type: Dry dry dry

⭐️ Skin tone: MAC NC35 / Fenty 290 / NYX Medium Olive

⭐️ Skin undertone: Neutral olive

💜 NYX Buttermelt Glaze (04 Almond Butta)

The NYX Buttermelt Glaze is a skin tint that promises SPF30 protection and skincare properties like niacinamide, shea butter and more.

When applying, this skin tint feels like a very nourishing, thick sunscreen, which surprisingly I didn't like at all! Its quite sticky. I also don't really like fragrance on my skincare etc. so while nice, I find the buttery mango smell a bit overwhelming.

As for the packaging, the squeeze bottle is easy to use and the size is pretty generous!

As you can see, while on my hand it looks like a match, the 04 Almond Butta shade runs suuuper warm. As an olive girly, it looks very orange on me (tbh it even looks warm on the model photo) 🍊 This shade was recommended by the "shade twins" trend on TT but I'm annoyed at myself for not checking the NYX website and make sure it was suitable 🥲

The next shade called 05 Chai Butta is meant to be a medium neutral shade but it looked way too dark on the shop 🤷🏾‍♀️ I'm not sure whether to bother trying that one out 🤔

💜 e.l.f. Halo Glow Skint Tint (08 Medium Neutral)

"What it is: A hydrating, serum-like skin tint that delivers light, buildable coverage with a natural dewy finish - plus mineral SPF 50 sunscreen with no white cast."

Okay so... the bottle is VERY small.

I don't mind the price seeing that it works and has SPF50, but I was surprised by the tiny bottle I received. It comes with a ball inside to shake it and I have mistakenly poured too much before, so careful when squeezing it.

Just the skin tint w/o color correcting or concealer

However, I'm happy to say that this skint tint feels really nice!! The texture is light but it covers my hyperpigmentation and sunspots quite well. It's slightly too green for me now that I'm a little tan, but I feel very pretty and glowy after setting it with some powder! (Currently using Maybelline Pressed Powder 220) ✨️

Paired with the power grip primer and a setting spray it has been doing alright in spite of the high humidity and sweat. For the moment I feel satisfied with this one!

Thank you for reading xx
